Essaouira Day trip starts from your Hotel in Marrakech, then heads to Essaouira at 08:00 am. Firstly, we will drive along the Haouz plains to Chichaoua village, where you will stop for a cup of coffee before we continue to Sidi Mokhtar. The first thing you do when you reach Essaouira, is a visit to the harbor with its fishing port and old Portuguese fortifications. There you can still see medieval war cannons aligned in order , overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Then continue to Medina ( old city ) with its well preserved fortification dating to the 18th century. The major landmark of Medina is La Scala, which was built against foreign attacks from the sea. Next, you continue to Bab Laalouj ( One of the main gates of Essaouira), then to Mellah, the old Jewish quarter.

Along the way, various art shops, galleries, souvenir shops and thuya wood craft shops are aligned in order. Choose one of the local cafes, for a delicious seafood lunch. Or you can pick up some fish or seafood  including sardines, crabs, mussels and eels at the fishing port and have it grilled at stalls along the edge of the port. After that you can head to a Kasbah that is famous for having served as a military bastion. If you are a beach lover. enjoy a walk or horse/ camel riding along the sandy beach of Mogador. You can sunbathe while watching waterspouts, amateur kitesurfing or windsurfing. Finally, return to Marrakech in the late afternoon
